Everlasting Love
I thought your love would prove an endless art,
deep-rooted in the chamber of your heart;
yet mind and soul were torn and pulled apart
in that harsh tug-of-war of mere surviving.
Since the rules of love are constantly breaking,
a promise given by a lion’s heart
to choose grim death instead of sparing part.
Alas, those words were only masquerading.

Nevertheless, I still cling to this love
because no other soul is near my world
your presence settles on me like a glove,
and though my spirit’s fallen foul and whirled,
this heart of mine can never rise above:
I carry deadly love through the afterworld.
